Sakarya achieved $1.6 billion worth of exports in the first 4 months

According to information compiled from the Turkish Exporters Assembly data, Sakarya contributed 2.11 percent to the country's exports in the January-April period.

Sakarya, which exported 1 billion 576 million 718 thousand dollars to 129 countries and 8 free zones in the first 4 months of the year, maintained its 8th place after Istanbul, Kocaeli, Bursa, Ankara, Izmir, Gaziantep and Manisa. The city, which realized the most exports in the automotive sector with 84 percent, made 1 billion 324 million 921 thousand dollars in foreign sales from production facilities such as Toyota, TürkTraktör and Otokar. The sectors with the most exports after automotive were recorded as iron and non-ferrous metals with 58 million 533 thousand dollars, chemicals and products with 31 million 916 thousand dollars, air conditioning industry with 26 million 926 thousand dollars and steel sector with 23 million 99 thousand dollars. The highest export from the city in the January-April period was to France with $217 million 573 thousand. France was followed by Poland with $205 million 339 thousand, the United Kingdom with $150 million 817 thousand, Spain with $148 million 796 thousand, Italy with $132 million 197 thousand, and Germany with $109 million 627 thousand.
