Turkish stock exchange flat at midweek open

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Wednesday at 11,118.47 points, down 0.04% or 5 points from the previous close.

The BIST 100 index had edged up 0.06% on Tuesday to finish at 11,123.47 points, with a daily trading volume of 148.5 billion Turkish liras ($3.5 billion).

As of 9.50 a.m. local time (0650GMT), exchange rates stood at 42.4565 liras against the US dollar, 49.4685 against the euro, and 56.2485 against the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold stood at $4,209.50, while Brent crude oil was trading at $62.50 per barrel.
