Polish president visits Turkish defense industry stands at MSPO 2026

Türkiye’s defense industry chief Haluk Gorgun holds talks with senior British, Polish officials on joint production, technology transfer, new projects

Polish President Karol Nawrocki visited the stands of Türkiye’s Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) and defense company Aselsan at the MSPO 2026 defense exhibition in Kielce, Poland. SSB President Haluk Gorgun accompanied Nawrocki during the visit and briefed him on the capabilities of Türkiye’s defense industry and cooperation between Türkiye and Poland. In a social media post, Görgün highlighted the strong resolve and shared vision demonstrated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Nawrocki on bilateral relations. Gorgun also held talks with senior British and Polish officials on the sidelines of the exhibition. He met UK Minister for Defense Readiness and Industry Luke Pollard, Polish Deputy Minister of State Assets Konrad Golota, Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, and the head of Poland’s National Security Bureau Bartosz Grodecki. Gorgun said his meeting with Pollard focused on areas in which Turkish companies could participate as the UK develops its defense procurement and industrial approach, as well as opportunities for joint technology development. “Building on our NATO alliance, we will continue to bring our respective capabilities together in new projects,” he said. Gorgun discussed potential joint production, technology transfer and localization models involving Turkish companies and Polish defense firms in his meeting with Golota, “We will continue our engagements to bring our respective capabilities together through long-term industrial partnerships and new projects,” he said. Gorgun and Kosiniak-Kamysz also discussed steps to deepen existing defense industry cooperation between Türkiye and Poland. Highlighting the two countries’ centuries-old relations and their NATO alliance, Gorgun said, “Building on the historical foundation created by our centuries-old relations and the strong framework provided by our NATO alliance, we will continue to advance our engagement through concrete projects.”
