Israeli army carries out near-daily arrest raids across the territory
The Israeli army arrested 16 Palestinians, including the director of the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, in raids across the occupied West Bank early Friday, according to official media and local sources. In Hebron, southern West Bank, Israeli forces arrested nine Palestinians after raiding and searching their homes, including Ibrahimi Mosque Director Moataz Abu Sneineh and Hammam Abu Markhiya, an official responsible for the mosque’s custodians, Wafa news agency reported. In the city of Qalqilya, Israeli forces arrested five Palestinians during a raid, local sources said. Two other Palestinians were arrested after Israeli forces raided and searched several homes in Beita, south of Nablus, the sources said. Israeli forces also carried out raids in other areas of the West Bank, with no arrests reported. The Israeli army conducts near-daily arrest campaigns across the West Bank, including against women and children. The raids are often accompanied by assaults on residents and their property, and damage to homes. Raids intensified after Israel launched its genocide in Gaza.
